Tears of Steel

This is a test movie – but well worth a watch. At 12 minutes long it manges to tell a complete story.

The goal of the project is to “test a complete open and free pipeline for visual effects in film”. It was created with the free and open source Blender software. There have been Blender shorts on Geek Native before like Sintel a sad dragon animation and Pandora Machine’s Clone Hunter.

I hope we see Blender going from strength to strength, from success to success, and becoming more accessible. If we do then we’ll continue to see amazing and indie films on YouTube. Tears of Steel was crowd funded itself.
