Could you survive a zombie apocalypse? There are a lot of factors to consider – such how the end of the world came about in the first place? If the bombs drop on your home city then you’ve got far less chance than those on the other side of the world.
Perhaps a way to tackle the question is to skip ahead until after the zombie apocalypse. Mankind is now out-numbered by the undying. The zombies are actively hunting for fresh brainmeat to eat. Could you survive?
Back in April when Geek Native had some The Walking Dead Minimates to giveaway people were asked how well they thought they’d do. This isn’t a scientific survey as people were incentived to answer but with about 50 responses we’ve enough data to have a little fun with.
It turns out most people think they could survive. More than 2 out of 3 of us reckon they could survive. Gamers were a little more confident than non-gamers. Perhaps RPGs and computer games help teach a survival trick or two?

Most games have the protagonist as a reasonable powerhouse, stronger
than the average fodder; and able to take a beating when it comes to
combat. In reality humans are quite fragile and in a survival game, the
dis-empowered player may feel frustrated. Is there a large player base
that an apocalypse survival game can attract? What purpose or goal is
given to the player of the game? Is it simply to survive against nature
and the odds of an inconvenient life void of major societal structures?
