Wow. I’ve had some strange looks from people in the pub because I’ve been playing Ingress on my smartphone before but I can only guess at what would happen if I played the game in holographic projection mode!
What about using your smartphone to power a projection based tabletop games map for your RPG night? Thanks to Kickstarter there are quite a few apps to help run games now and your GM could easily carry the phone over to your place, get set up in a heartbeat and bring a whole new element to your gameplay.
I’m not sure what a holographic keyboard would do to productivity or game control options.
So is Lenovo’s laser projector smartphone technology from the future that’s here today? Perhaps. Back in 2012 Geek Native wrote about the Galaxy Beam. This was another attempt to do the whole projector phone and it didn’t quite take off.
