Do you remember Zoids? They were robotic creatures that you had to build yourself by attaching plastic to plastic, screwing in caps and making sure all the hinges and joins worked well. Later on there was a computer game and even an anime series.
A year ago students from the Chiba Institute of Technology made their own version of Zoids. This is a scary looking robotic larva (and I remember the original; it was this shape but smaller and far less scary). These robots are operatered via PlayStation controllers.
