Geek Native has a copy of Hardware: The Definitive SF Works of Chris Foss to give away. The blog also has a brand spanking new Facebook Page to promote.
Can you see what I’m going to do here? That’s right. To win this very shiny, hefty and sexy book you need to Like Geek Native on Facebook and leave a comment below to what movie the art of Chriss Foss reminds you of the most. We have examples of his fantastic art here.
Some important stuff!
- It’s all Facebook’s fault. There are strict rules that say this blogger can’t contact you via Facebook for this competition. That’s why you need to leave a comment below.
- Titan Books and Chris Foss’ eagle eyed legal team have made this competition possible. Thank you!
Consider this competition a bit of a test. If it goes well I’m tempted to give away more stuff. Why? It just seems like a good way to build a community around the blog. It’s good to have you here.
Reminder: 1) Like Geek Native and 2) Comment on which movie Chris Foss’ art reminds of you below this post.
The competition will end on August 20th. Winner will be picked at random from eligible entries and if we can get in touch the book will be shipped the following week.
I have to say his stuff really reminds me of is Blade Runner – which lets face it is probably the most unoriginal answer ever…………..taxi………….
Chris Foss’s artwork always gets my imagination going. It doesn’t really remind me of any particular film as every SF film simply seems to be a pale immitation of Chris’s drawings. Did you see the ship in the last Dr Who Xmas special though? (The one where Amy and Rory were having their honeymoon) It was straight out of a Foss collection. Perhaps someone with better Google-fu than me can find a picture.
If I had to choose one film though: Chris Foss’s artwork looks as good as the spaceships in Transformers The Movie did when I was six!
Love Foss particularly the non aerodynamic element of his work. Reminded you that there was no atmosphere or friction in space. I bought my first airbrush because of CF

— good luck to everyone!
Personally it reminds me of “Heavy Metal”. But that might be a cop out answer, because it’s animated. :)

Perhaps it was a caching issue?
Foss reminds me of the movie Sky Captain and the world of Tomarrow. Mainly towards the end.
Love the work,Foss has a grasp on the impossible and brings it to life in art.
Love the work,It would be a Great addition to my collection!
