Cubicle 7 have a host of great licenses and partnerships. Titles include Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who and gamer favourites like SLA Industries and Victoriana. With partners Cakebread & Walton they’re putting together an RPG called Airship Pirates.
Airship Pirates is based on the work by Abney Park. Now, normally when you here a RPG is based on the “work of” you tend to think of books – or in some cases a TV show or movie. That’s not the case here. Abney Park is a music group.
What’s more, Captain Robert of Abney Park is closely involved in the project. You can read an interview with him along side Ken Walton and Peter Cakebread (of Walton and Cakebread) conducted by the talented Kryssie Mackey over here.
Cubicle 7 and Cakebread & Walton shared a small gallery of images from the steampunk themed RPG just this week. Click on thumbnail to get a larger picture.
If that’s not enough for you; what about a Abney Park video? You can also find Abney Park on Spotify (Spotify link).
That is way too cool. Any word on a release date?
I gather the game is due for release in August, alongside an adventure called ‘Ruined Empire’.
While I am not really fond of their music, this RPG could be pretty cool. Is already known which system it will use?
I’m told the system will be a modified Heresy Engine (as used in Victoriana 2nd) that premièred in Dark Harvest.
