Nintendo Gamecube three times more popular than Xbox 360 in Japan

You might have heard that the Xbox isn’t very popular in Japan. It’s true. There’s lots of reasons why this is the case – it’s the console from America, the games don’t always suit the Japanese market and the PlayStation 2 is so incredibly strong there. The Nintendo DS is even stronger.

A recent survey of over 1,000 people suggested that three times as many people owned a Nintendo Gamecube than an Xbox 360. More people own a Sega DreamCast than they do an Xbox 360.

You can see the results here if you and your computer cope with Japanese. The translated table below comes the very NSFW site Sankaku Complex. Far be it from me to recommend such a hentai blog but if you want insight into the Japanese gaming market; the complex is worth knowing about.
