Brick roads don’t simply look nice they’re also durable and much less prone to pot holes than other surfaces. The reason why more brick roads aren’t laid is simply the time and resources it takes to make them.
Okay, I know this is Geek Native and not Road Maker Native so stick with me as I get to the cool tech.
The Dutch have a machine called Tiger-Stone that is capable of weaving bricks together to make a brick road. The same machine is then able to roll out the brick road.
What do you think?
Not a machine to drop your wedding ring into. Perhaps a machine to throw the evil kobold warlord into.
I think this is one of the best views to see just how clever the machine is. The workers don’t need to put the bricks in any special and time consuming order. The machine simply consumes bricks from a general funnel.
