Dragon Warriors is a 6 book series sold in regular book stores mainly throughout the Commonwealth, written by Dave Morris and Oliver Johnson. It’s fans are many, as it was largely a story driven RPG as opposed to a rules focused RPG. That meant that the GM had great freedom to develop the storyline without being impeded by strict rules.

The combat system is very easy and simple. The attacker has an Attack score, and the Defender has a Defense score. Attack minus Defense gave a target number which the attacker needed to roll or lower on a d20 to succeed in a hit. A similar system existed for Stealth and Perception. The system was fast, dice light which left the GM plenty of room and time to focus on the story, rather than game mechanics.

Fans of the story loved Dragon Warriors for its campaign world of “Legend” which was quite closely modelled on our own Medieval history with a “Europe” under a unified monotheistic faith, and a “Middle-East” with its own version. The world had a dark ambience reflected in its unique and imaginative creatures.

The books begin with an initial set of 3 books. The remaining 3 books contain rules additions in a modular fashion.
