First Pictures: Doctor Who’s new costume

We’re doing quite well with the photographs from the Christmas Special filming at Cardiff Coal Exchange. We’ve had a sneak peak of Michael Gambon heading in for filming – good to see Dumbledore on Doctor Who.

Now we’ve got access to early pictures of Matt Smith, as Doctor Who, and wearing a new jacket. There had been rumours of a new costume. These photos seem to confirm that. The new jacket is brown with stripes; the word ‘tweed’ comes to mind.

What do you make of it?

It's not exactly a “new costume” is it? It's not like he's sourced another Fez, or is now going to be wearing a white Tuxedo fulltime. It's still just him in a tweed jacket.

    But Tweed Jackets are cool.

The original post title was “jacket” rather than “costume” but that was a) dull, b) didn't reflect the new costume rumours and c) potentially misleading as he may well be wearing bright green trousers in all of those photographs.

Oh! A fez! that would be an ace idea. Maybe we should try and convince them that fezzes are you.

    You and your tabloid-esque headline-grabbing tactics, I don't know!
